Nitrogen Raw Solubles

The nitrogen used in the RAW Solubles line of nutrients is in the ammonium nitrate form. This means that not only is it completely soluble, it is also instantly available to a plant. It also means that it can be effectively used in a foliar application to quickly remedy a nitrogen deficiency. The nitrogen found in many general fertilizers is in the form of nitrates. In some cases, companies use nitrates to boost the available nitrogen levels on the product label to make the product seem more potent. Many horticulturists unknowingly overuse nitrate nitrogen found in other fertilizers because the plant will take it in whether it needs it or not. The biggest problem with this is that plants can actually waste energy taking in nitrates that are unnecessary. Overuse of nitrate nitrogen can also lead to stored nitrates in the plant tissue which can affect the flavors of the fruits and vegetables. It is also considered unhealthy to consume produce with excess amounts of nitrates.
